She had served as a Cub Scout den mother and a Sunday school teacher. In 2014 Aline moved to Knoxville to live in an assisted living facility located near the homes of her sons.Īline was a member of the United Teaching Profession, American Library Association, International Reading Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. She and her husband traveled extensively, both before and after they retired in 1985. She also served as a school librarian for three years and taught Title 1 reading for one year. She taught in grades 1 through 4 in several elementary schools. She worked in the city school system in Tullahoma, Tennessee, for 23 years. In 1973 she received a master’s degree in education with a minor in library science from Middle Tennessee State University. They were the parents of two sons who were both born in Palo Alto, California.Īline attended Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, and received her bachelor’s degree from there in 1945. She married William Robert “Bill” Wimbrow in Los Angeles, California, on July 11, 1945. She grew up in New Jersey and the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
